About

I believe in the power of museums to connect with people — to share authentic stories, start conversations, and encourage reflection. I work with community members, subject matter experts, and designers, using my understanding of how words and concepts come together with collections, interactives, and media in three-dimensional free-choice environments. I organize ideas, write interpretive plans and narrative descriptions, communicate themes, and help sell projects. My favorite part is crafting labels people read, talk about, and remember. I push the boundaries of what’s possible in museums, striving to innovate processes and products by inserting user-focused experimentation and risk taking to keep up with today’s fast-paced society.

I’ve delved into topics ranging from fossils to fish to space, working with organizations and firms that include History Colorado, MIG | Portico, the Denver Art Museum, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, the National Aquarium, Studio Tectonic, the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History, and Gerard Hilferty & Associates. I started my career at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science where I discovered my strengths to be a visitor-centered approach and an ability to work well with diverse teams and stakeholders.

I have an M.A. in Museum Studies and a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Denver. I wrote a label that won recognition in the 2013 Excellence in Exhibition Label Writing Competition, and served as a juror for the competition in 2014. I served on the Board of the National Association for Museum Exhibition 2014–2016.
